Banana-Orange Julius

No story behind this recipe today, other than it is one that will always be in my recipe book, and this would taste especially delicious since I've been sick (hck. hck.... those are my virtual coughing sounds) A classic Orange Julius-- with a banana twist.  I think the addition of the banana makes the flavor a little more complex and sweet. Yum.  You want one now don't you?

Banana-Orange Julius
Slightly adapted by Egg Free Bakery from Mel's Kitchen Cafe

6 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate, no sugar added
1 cup lowfat or skim milk
1 cup water
1/4 -1/3 cup powdered sugar (depending on how sweet you want it)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 overripe banana, preferrably frozen and cut into chunks
8-10 ice cubes

Combine all the ingredients except the ice cubes in a blender and process until smooth and frothy. Add the ice cubes and blend until smooth and at desired consistency.  (I like mine smooth and frothy).  Yields 4 large or 6 small drinks
