Southwest Burger

Sometimes good old fashioned hamburgers hit the spot.  Sometimes, though, we find ourselves craving a change every now and then from the classic burger.  I found this in a Taste of Home magazine and it is just the thing to get out of a hamburger rut!

Southwest Burger
From Egg Free Bakery, based off idea found at Taste of Home

4 high quality hamburger buns
4 100% ground beef patties
4 slices pepper jack cheese
2 ripe avocado, pitted and sliced
1/2 cup salsa
1-2 tbsp chopped cilantro

Grill hamburgers until cooked through.  During last few minutes of grilling, lay pepper jack cheese on top of burger patties.  To assemble:  Place a burger patties on top of bottom half of burger bun.  Top burger with 3-4 slices of avocado.  Then put about 2 tbsp salsa on top next, sprinkle with cilantro and replace burger top.  Serve immediately.  Yield: 4 servings.
